My First Duty Virtual Machine Installation on Backtrack 5

1.    first open the virtual box you can access it in the Menu-> system->Oracle VM VitrualBox and than you'll see a windows open like picture bellow

2.    click new so will appear new windows like bellow

3.    clik next and type the virtual name also chose the OS type I chose windows xp because I wanna install an xp OS. See picture bellow and klik next

if we wanna install ubuntu we can chose the OS like picture bellow

4.    select the amount of base memory (RAM) in megabytes to be allocated to the virtual machine. In the picture bellow. If you don't wanna change the configuration and wanna use the default settings just click next

5.    on the windows like picture bellow just click next

6.    on the windows like picture bellow just click next

7.    on the windows like picture bellow just click next

8.    on the picture bellow just adjust the maximum size of your virtual hard drive I prefer to configure not more than 5 GB with consideration that I only have space not more than 45 GB on my hard drive. If you done just click next

9.    on the screen bellow just click Create

10.    the next step you will see screen just like bellow and click create. We must done the all step from step one until step twelve every we wanna make the new system, don't care what kind  of the system we would made. Differentiation only on the step 3 about chose the true OS

11.    and the last configuration your machine ready to setup when you see windows like the picture bellow. And we will see list of the system that we have on the virtual machine. Like the picture bellow

the most important in-this session is to configure the network device. To do so just click setting on the picture above so will appear  new windows setting like picture bellow

OS Installation
12.    chose the OS and then click start so we will see new windows like picture bellow and just click next

 13.    chose the source of our boot. In this case we use the win xp image or ubuntu image so we must click the yellow icon in the picture bellow and chose where we save the image iso file.

14.    Click start and do the os installation like the common installation 

15.    when we install the ubuntu of curse we will see picture bellow and just clik “install ubuntu” and just follow the instruction

16.    when we install xp we will see picture bellow  press enter and follow the instruction and installation finish.

17.    In the XP installation if we asked about the serial number just type like the picture bellow

18.    if you do right so all the network will configure properly and the ubuntu network config can show in the picture bellow

19.    and the ping will be like picture bellow

20.    the windows xp network configuration can shown like picture bellow

21.    and the result of ping command can shown in picture bellow

22.    ping from host to virtual ubuntu shown  the picture bellow
